Project Description

Overview

Elnik Systems LogoElnik Systems is a family-owned global leader in the manufacture of sintering furnaces and ovens that serve the MIM (Metal Injection Molding) industry.  These furnaces are used to precision manufacture large quantities of small complex parts.  Elnik Systems, located in Cedar Grove, NJ, has been designing and manufacturing leading edge technology ovens for more than 50 years and continues to produce the most advanced MIM furnaces and debinding ovens in the world for one-step debinding and sintering processes.

Challenge

Elnik invested in solar as it wanted to reduce its energy costs to make it more competitive in the global marketplace.  It also wanted to demonstrate to its employees, stakeholders, customers, and vendors that it is environmentally conscious and committed to a sustainable future.

Solution

ECS installed a 101.64 kW ballasted rooftop array using PanelClaw racking.

Benefits

The solar array on Elnik’s roof offsets 70% of the company’s annual electric usage and Elnik has gained a measure of energy independence.  The solar array also demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability.

ECS’s team was extremely knowledgeable about their product offering, the process of ederal and State incentives and how best to implement the project at our site.  Not only were they able to deliver on the project as promised, but the quality of the work, attention to detail and management of the installation was excellent. I would highly recommend ECS to any business that is considering solar.
