Central Ave. NissanCentral Avenue Nissan is a high volume car dealership serving the greater NYC metropolitan area.  Located in Yonkers, NY, the dealership features a state of the art showroom and a separate state of the art service building.  The showroom was not a candidate for solar but the service building was perfect as it was a slightly pitched standing seam metal roof with very few rooftop obstructions.  The owners of the dealership are very charitable in the community and strive to set a positive example for others.  The dealership is known for its exceptional customer service.  In keeping with their corporate social responsibility, the owners were looking to invest in solar to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and to do their part in protecting the environment.


As a high volume car dealership serving the greater NYC metropolitan area, this site required significant coordination for equipment lay down and staging to avoid interfering with dealership operations.


ECS energy installed a 152.75 kW roof mounted PV system on the standing seam metal roof of the service building at Central Avenue Nissan in Yonkers, NY.  The roof mounted array generates green energy that offsets 35% of the facility’s annual electrical usage. This project was completed in six weeks and did not impact the dealership’s daily activities.  We lifted all solar installation materials to the service building’s roof on a Sunday to avoid M-Sa operations of the service department.
